A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO TURNTABLE SET-UP
Michael Fremer, ‘Stereophile’ Senior Contributing Editor, "Analog Corner" columnist and editor of the Music Angle website has produced (and hosts) this almost three hour long DVD that shows you everything you need to know about setting up a turntable and properly installing a phono cartridge.
Three turntables are set up in detail. Using the information provided in those set-ups, plus the manufacturer's instruction manual, anyone can set up any turntable ever made.
The disc's DVD-ROM section, accessible by putting the disc in your computer, includes a detailed PDF file. The illustrated 20 page file explains the principles of LP playback in easy to understand conceptual language. A magazine reprint describes a fanatical record cleaning methodology that can be adapted for any desired degree of record cleaning fastidiousness.
DVD format is NTSC (PAL version coming soon). Plays in your computer (which you need to access the PDF file anyway!) if you don’t have NTSC compatible equipment.
